My earlier research examined the motivational and physiological bases of self-regulation and personality, focusing on how cognitive effort, resource depletion, and individual differences affect performance and self-control. I also conducted evolutionary work on reproductive behavior and kinship that was separate from my later focus.
My earlier research examined the motivational and physiological bases of self-regulation and personality, focusing on how effort and individual differences shape self-control. I now study how large language models (LLMs) affect emotional regulation, including anxiety, rumination, and self-control. My dissertation tests whether LLM-based value affirmation can reduce death anxiety, and my current projects explore how people use AI tools to manage stress and emotion in daily life.
